Party Poker’s fifth staging of their Premier League Poker is to be included on the World Poker Tour (WPT) as a special tournament that promoters believe will attract “ the strongest field ever ” when the pros arrive in Austria in early April. Officially known as the WPT Premier League V presented by Party Poker, the event will take place at the Montesino Casino from April 4 to 10 – essentially as a warm-up to the WPT Vienna, although it will offer a $125,000 buy-in event, so can most certainly be considered a super high roller tournament for the 16-player line-up

The Epic Poker League (EPL) organisers are reportedly negotiating the sale of the series, but what is certain is poker fans throughout Europe now have the chance to watch the action on television. While negotiations continue between Pinnacle Entertainment – which operates casinos in Reno in Nevada, Ohio, Indiana, Louisiana and Missouri – and the EPL, the league has agreed a deal with The Poker Channel Europe to show upwards of 70 hours of the league in over 30 million homes throughout the continent, as well as the rest of the world via the internet.
