How to Prepare for Ordering Custom Poker Chips

Custom poker chips are an increasingly popular item being purchased at our store, JustPokerSupplies.com. And, there are several reasons for this. The first reason is that many corporations are using poker chip sets as gifts to their top performers. Many of our clients enjoy giving a gift with something more personal on it and custom poker chips fit this description very well. The second group we are seeing a large increase in is people looking to commemorate a special event with a very personalized gift; in particular, weddings, retirements, and job promotions. What do you need to do in order to make sure your order is as smooth as possible?

A good first step is to make sure you know what you want on your chip. It is surprising the number of people who want a custom poker chip but do not know what they want on it. We always recommend logos if you are corporate client or initials if you are an individual.

Next you have to choose what is the right custom poker chip for you. There are four categories of custom poker chips. The first is simple hotstamping your initials on a poker chip. This is fairly inexpensive, but it is still fun and stylish way to dress up the chips. The next type is to have custom labels applied to the chip. Labels can have any number of things printed on it and is generally considered a step up in the custom chip enviroment.

Directly printing onto the chip is the next category. Basically, an image is directly printed onto the chip. This creates a very nice image that you couldn’t take off with a piece of sandpaper. The last category is edge-to-edge printing on a custom ceramic chip; this can also include printing on the edge of the chip. This last category creates casino quality chips.

Having the logo or design you want on the chip is the next step. You should have the files in a 300DPI AI or PSD file. Many clients deliver the files in a PDF format, which is fine but they will have to be modified by a graphic designer to put into a usable format, which will cost more money.

Once all that work is done, you are ready to order your chips, review your proof, and take delivery of your custom poker chip order.
