Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu, born 26 July 1974 in Toronto, Canada, actually dreamed of a career as an actor or comedian, but instead he learned to play poker. When he was 16 years old, he spent most of his time in the betting pool halls, with sports or playing cards in illegal games in Toronto. He left high school shortly before graduation, and focused instead on his poker game. When he was then 21 he moved to Las Vegas.

It was not long until Negreanu lost all his money at the poker tables in Vegas and had been forced to return back to Toronto in order to improve his game and build up his bankroll again. He returned to Las Vegas with the goal of making a name for himself, and this he succeeded. He thus stands in second place of all-time money list behind Jamie Gold and No. 1 on the WPT circuit money list.
