Chris Ferguson

Christopher Philip Ferguson began at the age of 10 years with the poker games and improved his game by playing online for play money. Chris was on 11 April, 1963 in Los Angeles, California, born and now one of the best and most famous poker players worldwide.

Because of his long brown hair and beard, he got the nickname “Jesus.” During his tenure at UCLA, then came the hat and sunglasses even to hide the fact that he was a college student. In 1999 he graduated from University with a Ph.D. in computer science. Chris is a very quiet, good-natured man and has a somewhat mathematical game-style.

In 1995 Chris played his first World Series of Poker, where he was the 5th Place in the Razz event finished. Although he returned every year since, his real breakthrough came only in 2000. This year he first won the $ 2,500 Seven Card Stud event ($ 151.000) before it two weeks later, the WSOP Main Event could decide for himself ($ 1,500,000). A year later a second bracelet came in $ 1,500 Omaha Hi / Lo event, and in 2003 he again won two bracelets in one year, one for the $ 2,000 Omaha Hi / Lo tournament and another for the $ 2,000 Limit Hold’em & Seven Card Stud event.

In the four years since the start of the NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship Chris Ferguson has 16 wins and just 3 defeats, the most successful players of this event. In 2005-2006, it reached only to the second place, but in 2008 he won the title after he defeated in the finals heads-up Andy Bloch. This increased its total profits from poker tournaments to over $ 7,000,000.

In 2004, Ferguson helped with the development of the Full Tilt Poker software, where he still stands as a pro player under contract.

In September 2007 he ended his own “Chris Ferguson Challenge” in which he had started with a bankroll of $ 0, and was able to develop this within a few months at $ 10,000 (this total amount he donated after the Save the Children Foundation). Ferguson is also the only player to win three WSOP Circuit events today.
